Description Snow White
The potato variety Snow White is a medium-early Russian table variety with a maturation period of 70-80 days. Plants of this variety have compact, semi-erect bushes of medium height with small green leaves. Tubers are oval in shape, with smooth yellow skin and shallow eyes distributed throughout the tuber. The flesh is white, tender, and mealy, providing excellent taste and quick preparation. This variety is especially suitable for making mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, and producing crispy potatoes. Snow White is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 30 tubers per plant and 162-242 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 356 centners. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 65 to 117 grams. The starch content in the flesh is 15-19.9%, which is 4-5% higher than standard values, positively affecting the taste and technological suitability of the potato. The tubers have high storability — about 96% — ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. The variety Snow White is resistant to drought conditions and has good resistance to late blight and potato scab, simplifying care and reducing the risk of yield loss. However, it is susceptible to golden nematode and potato late blight. The recommended planting scheme is 35×65 cm, which promotes optimal plant development and maximum yield.
