Potato Kuznetchanka — a medium-early table variety developed by Russian breeders specifically for cultivation in Siberia and the Far East. The plant is semi-upright with green, closed leaves of medium size and a large flower with moderate anthocyanin coloring. Tubers are round, with red skin and creamy flesh, weighing 104–150 grams. Starch content ranges from 12.6% to 16.2%, making this variety versatile for various culinary purposes, including frying, boiling, and baking. The maturation period is 70–75 days after planting. The yield of Kuznetchanka is high — from 183 to 383 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 482 centners. Tubers have a marketability of 76–97% and storage capacity of 95%, ensuring good harvest preservation. The variety is resistant to several diseases, including potato blight and viral infections, as well as Phytophthora, Alternaria, and Colorado potato beetle. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately susceptible to Phytophthora and common scab. Kuznetchanka is low-maintenance and resistant to mechanical damage, making it suitable for both farm operations and home gardens. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to pre-treat seeds, prepare soil, cultivate, water, hill up, and conduct systematic pest control. Due to its adaptability to cold climates and drought, this variety is a reliable choice for regions with harsh weather conditions.
