Description SALAVAT-CHAMPION
Iris "Salavat-Champion" – a new garden variety developed by the Southern-Urals Botanical Garden-Institute and obtained from free pollination of the "Coronation" variety. It features a sturdy flower stalk about 80 cm high, short-branched growth, and slow spreading. The flower is about 14 cm in diameter and bicolored: inner segments are light violet-blue, outer ones are bright violet with an orange beard. Upper segments are wide, long, rounded, and wavy; lower ones are narrow, long, smooth, and wavy.

The variety boasts high ornamental value (rated 94 points), heat and winter hardiness, and moderate resistance to heterosporiosis. It has a strong fragrance, normal pollen development, and blooms for about 11 days in June.

Iris "Salavat-Champion" is suitable for urban greening: flowerbeds, groups, masses, borders, rabats, and alpine hills. Thanks to its sturdy stalk and bright coloring, it is also valued as a cut flower. The variety shows high survival in open ground, making it an ideal choice for greening populated areas.
