BRIZ is a hippeastrum, a member of the Lily genus and the Amaryllidaceae family, renowned for its large, bright, and striking funnel-shaped flowers. The flowers have a diameter of up to 25 cm and are located on leafless, multi-bloom stems ranging from 35 to 90 cm in height. They can be white, pink, red, wine-colored, peach, or combination colors, making each bouquet unique.
This plant originates from tropical regions of South America and is primarily grown indoors in Ukraine. Hippeastrum blooms in spring or winter depending on the planting time and has no scent – this is its main difference from the amaryllis, which smells and blooms in autumn. The leaves are wider, appear later, and the bulb is more massive. For successful growing, it is important to choose sufficiently heavy pots or planters so they do not tip over under the weight of the inflorescence.
Hippeastrum BRIZ is a hybrid, specifically bred for pot culture. It can bloom twice a year with proper agronomy, and mature bulbs produce up to three flower-bearing stems. Flowers reach a height of up to 40 cm and hold inflorescences well with 2–4 large buds. To bloom for winter holidays, it is recommended to plant the plant 80–90 days before the planned blooming moment.
