Successfully managing the 'Breeze' variety, a product of Georgian origin (originator: FRC SSC RAS), requires a deep understanding of its biological clock. Unlike mass-market hybrids, 'Breeze' operates on a strict cycle. Operators must facilitate a proper dormancy period with controlled temperature drops after flowering. Skipping this phase is effectively an operational failure, as it depletes the bulb and prevents the emergence of future blooms.

Technical Maintenance and Growth Requirements

Given the massive flower size of 22–25 cm, the plant requires specific environmental adjustments to remain viable and healthy:

• Structural Support: Due to the extreme weight of the blooms, the scape often requires mechanical support. Use discreet stakes to prevent snapping as the bud reaches its full 25 cm diameter.
• Irrigation protocol: Always water from the base or the edge of the pot. Direct moisture on the neck of the bulb is the primary cause of rot and structural loss in this variety.
• Pot Sizing: 'Breeze' performs best in restricted root zones. A clearance of 3–4 cm between the bulb and the pot wall is the ideal setting; excess space encourages bulb multiplication at the expense of flower development.

Maintenance focuses on precise nutrient delivery. As soon as the scape hits 10–15 cm in height, shift the plant to a high-potassium fertilizer regimen.
