Steftril — Selective systemic herbicide for controlling annual dicotyledonous and perennial rootstock weeds on sugar beet crops
Formulation: water-soluble concentrate
Active ingredient: cloquintal, 300 g/l
Mode of action:
Absorbed by leaves and roots, translocated within the plant and accumulates in meristematic tissues. Acts as an auxin-type compound, inhibiting respiration and cell growth. Controls both above-ground and root systems of weeds.
Optimal application period — warm, humid weather.
Do not apply on hot days with strong sunlight or during risk of night frosts, nor on crops affected by disease or stress. Apply using ground equipment between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. with minimal wind. For fine droplet application, wind speed should not exceed 3 m/s; for coarse droplet application — 4 m/s. Do not spray on wet plants from rain or dew, nor if rain is expected within the next 2 hours.
Apply to crops during the 1–3 true leaf stage. Maximum efficacy is achieved during weed growth phases: 2–4 leaves for annuals and rosette stage for perennial rootstock weeds.
Working solution rate:
200 — 300 l/ha.
Spectrum of activity:
Yellow sowthistle (field) (Sonchus arvensis)
Yellow sowthistle (hairy) (Sonchus asper)
Garden sowthistle (Sonchus oleraceus)
Non-scented chamomile (Matricaria perforata)
Bindweed (Polygonum convolvulus)
Persicaria (Polygonum persicaria)
Tatarian lettuce (Lactuca tatarica)
Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus)
Groundsel (Senecio vulgaris)
Tatarian chickweed (Fagopyrum tataricum)
Application notes:
Avoid use at high rates on subsequent cereal or legume crops;
Use when sowthistle rosettes reach 15–20 cm in diameter.
Advantages:
Efficacy is not reduced if rain occurs within 2 hours after application;
Controls all types of sowthistle;
Compatible with other herbicides;
Low phytotoxicity.
