Post-emergence systemic herbicide with selective action against annual and perennial broadleaf weeds, including those resistant to 2,4-D and MCPA, on cereal grasses and corn.
Form and active ingredient:
Water-soluble concentrate containing dicamba acid, 480 g/L.
Chemical class:
Benzoic acid derivatives.
Packaging:
Bottles of 1 L.
Speed of action:
Action begins immediately upon contact with the product. Visible herbicide effect appears 7 — 16 days after application.
Mode of action:
Optimum acts as a growth inhibitor, suppresses chlorophyll synthesis and affects cell division in weed meristems. The product penetrates weeds through leaves and root systems, moving throughout the plant to completely destroy leaves and roots.
Properties and advantages:
Optimum — a classic herbicide for protecting cereals, which clears fields of annual and perennial root-sprouting weeds for the following crops in rotation;
Ideal component in tank mixes, enhancing efficacy against perennial broadleaf weeds;
Optimum’s optimal tank-mix partners are products from groups 2,4-D, sulfonylureas, triazines, glyphosate, because they prevent resistance development and enhance efficacy through strong synergism;
Broad spectrum of activity;
Effectively controls weeds resistant to 2,4-D and MCPA;
Optimum has no residual effect on subsequent crops in rotation during the next growing season;
Completely degrades in soil over the vegetation period;
Optimum has high efficacy starting at 10°C and is applied in the tillering stage of cereals and at 3 — 5 leaves of corn, sorghum, and proso millet.
