Hazelnut Tonda Francescana® is a high-efficiency industrial variety bred in 2012 by the University of Perugia based on the selection of Hazelnut Tonda Gentile Romana and Hazelnut Tonda Giffoni. Thanks to its hybrid structure, it combines strong winter hardiness, high yield, and adaptability to various climatic conditions, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of agricultural regions.
The variety is distinguished by outstanding organoleptic qualities: large fruit size, rich taste and aroma, as well as a high oil percentage. This allows Tonda Francescana® to be used in the confectionery industry, where stable product quality and long storage time without loss of taste characteristics are required.
