Description
Gypsophila 'Pink' is a compact perennial with a height of 60–100 cm and a width up to 90 cm, quickly forming airy, rounded bushes with silvery-green leaves. At the beginning of summer, the plant starts actively growing: tall branched stems appear, and miniature pink flowers with a diameter of about 0.5–1 cm bloom at their tips. The flowering period lasts from June to September without interruption, with each bush covered in buds and bright, lush inflorescences, creating an effect of delicate lace decor.
Loose soils from loamy sand to rocky ground are suitable for growing Gypsophila 'Pink', while ensuring good drainage and avoiding water stagnation is important. The plant prefers sunny or slightly shaded areas but can also grow on alkaline calcareous substrates. Hardiness reaches USDA zone 4 (-28 °C), making it suitable for cultivation in a temperate climate without additional protection.
Care for Gypsophila is simple: regular weeding, loosening, and watering during drought – everything needed to maintain the plant's health. If desired, growth can be accelerated by treating the rhizomes with a growth stimulant and using modern granular mixes. Gypsophila 'Pink' combines beautifully with roses and other ornamental plants, and its delicate flowers are often used in summer and winter bouquets thanks to their light, airy appearance.
