Description Puma Super
Puma ® Super — this is a selective post-emergence herbicide with extremely high efficiency against such weeds as common ryegrass, oats, foxtail, barnyard grass, hairgrass, and crabgrass. The preparation can be used on wheat, barley, rye, and triticale crops. Puma ® Super provides reliable protection for crop plants: it allows for targeted elimination of important weeds after emergence, rather than destroying them at the seedling stage using nonspecific measures.

MECHANISM OF ACTION

The active ingredient (fenoxaprop-P-ethyl) is absorbed exclusively through leaves, not through the soil. Thus, soil properties and moisture do not affect the efficacy of the preparation. After the working solution dries on the plant, rainfall does not affect the efficacy of the preparation. Within the weeds, the active ingredient is rapidly translocated from the leaves to the growing point at the base of the stem.

Puma ® Super disrupts the synthesis of fatty acids in the cells of the growing point of weeds, causing them to die. After treatment with Puma ® Super, plant growth stops within several hours. Simultaneously, weeds stop competing with the crop for water and nutrients. Complete death of grassy weeds occurs within 10 days after spraying.

APPLICATION
Winter and spring wheat, winter and spring barley, rye, triticale. Spraying during the vegetation period of the crop. Dosage: 0.8-1.0 L/ha

Thanks to the presence of an antidote in the preparation, Puma ® Super is safe for crops from the first leaf stage until the flag leaf stage. Optimal weed control is achieved when applied from the two-leaf stage to the tillering stage of grassy weeds.

Puma ® Super is applied when all grassy weeds have emerged. For best results, application is recommended at air temperatures of +15 °C and above.

Selectivity

The high efficacy of Puma ® Super against weeds does not reduce its tolerance to crops. Thanks to the antidote mefenpyr-ethyl in crop plants, the transformation of the active substance into neutral degradation products occurs so rapidly that the risk of harmful effects on rye, wheat, and triticale is eliminated. The fact that crops do not experience negative effects even in cases of accidental overdose, for example, due to overlap of sprayers, confirms the high selectivity of the preparation.

Puma ® Super rapidly breaks down in the soil into biologically neutral products, therefore it has no negative effect on subsequent crops in crop rotations.

However, when applied to barley, when crop plants are under stress caused by low temperatures, sometimes there is a slight reduction in the intensity of color of the first barley leaves, due to the slowing of the release of the active substance by the antidote. But this is temporary, and within a few days the color recovers. This phenomenon does not affect the further growth, development, and yield of barley.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUE

It is recommended to use fine droplet spraying with a working solution dosage of 100-300 L/ha, depending on the type of field equipment: for example, flat-fan nozzles, pressure 2.5-3 kg/cm2, equipment speed 6-7 km/h. For ultra-low volume and aerial spraying, the dosage is 50 L/ha.

COMPATIBILITY

Puma ® Super has good compatibility with other plant protection products — fungicides, insecticides, and liquid organic fertilizers. This saves labor operations and costs.

Among herbicides, we recommend mixing Puma ® Super with Grodil ® Maxi to avoid cases of antagonism that may result in reduced efficacy of the preparation against grassy weeds.
