Formulation: concentrate emulsion
Active ingredient: fluroxypyr (250 g/L)
MANUFACTURER: "Makhteshim-Agan Industries, Ltd", Israel
PACKAGING: 5 L canister
ADVANTAGES OF THE PRODUCT:
Systemic herbicide for pre-emergence application
Broad spectrum of activity against broadleaf and grass weeds in sunflower crops
Kills the quarantine weed Ambrosia arborescens
Recommended for protecting sunflower seedlings
Protective effect of the herbicide lasts 2-4 months
Applied once per season
Non-toxic to warm-blooded animals, beneficial insects, and bees
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Racer is a pre-emergence herbicide. It acts by inhibiting carotenoid synthesis. The product is absorbed through roots and rapidly translocated to the sensitive weed's leaf tissues
Emerging weeds die before they appear on the surface or appear bleached and quickly die. Racer blocks the synthesis of β-carotene, which is responsible for protecting chlorophyll from photo-oxidation by sunlight
APPLICATION:
Application rate depends on soil type. On heavy soils and soils with high organic matter content, a higher application rate is required. Racer is applied by soil spraying immediately after sowing, before crop emergence. In dry conditions, light incorporation of Racer provides better results
Single application per season is sufficient. The product can be used in mixtures with other pre-emergence herbicides at low application rates. To broaden the spectrum of weed control and for economic efficiency, the following tank mixes are recommended:
Racer 25, a.i. -1.5-2.0 L/ha + acetochlor, a.i. -1.5-2.0 L/ha. This tank mix reliably protects sunflower crops from Ambrosia
Racer 25, a.i. -1.0-1.5 L/ha + Prometrine 50, a.i. — 2.0 L/ha. This mixture is used when there is a large amount of Ambrosia. Tank mix with Trifluralin is also possible
WORLDWIDE EXPERIENCE OF USE:
The product is widely used in countries such as Germany, Lithuania, Spain, Yugoslavia, etc., for protecting corn, winter wheat, sunflower, potato, carrot, pea, parsley, dill, celery, and garlic
