Adengo ® 46.5% SC, herbicide — an innovative pre-emergence and early post-emergence systemic herbicide against annual broadleaf and grassy weeds in corn.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
The product has a dual action. One of the active ingredients — isoxafluthyl — is readily absorbed primarily by the roots and seedlings of weeds and acts as a carotenoid biosynthesis inhibitor. Its effect on the meristematic tissues of weeds causes whitening of young plants. Under conditions of adequate soil moisture, weeds either do not emerge or become whitened after emergence and quickly die. Light does not adversely affect the stability of isoxafluthyl.
The second active ingredient — thiencarbazone-methyl — belongs to the sulfonylurea group, inhibiting the enzyme acetolactate synthase, which stops amino acid formation and cell division at the growth points of weeds. In addition to foliar action, thiencarbazone-methyl has a pronounced soil activity against broadleaf and grassy weeds. Thiencarbazone-methyl quickly enters weed plants through the leaves and root system. Weed growth quickly stops, and within a few days, chlorosis appears on the leaves. Within 2-4 weeks after application, weeds die. Thanks to the combination of two active ingredients with different mechanisms of action, the product provides long-term protection for corn crops against annual broadleaf and grassy weeds, eliminating them at the germination stage.
In addition to highly active ingredients, the herbicide also contains an antidote, which ensures a wide application window and high safety for the crop.
A distinctive feature of the herbicide Adengo 46.5% SC, l.s. is the "recharge effect":
Under drought conditions or in the absence of contact between seeds and weed seedlings with the product, the latter may emerge and germinate.
Minimal rainfall (20 mm and more) after application "recharges" its herbicidal activity.
Weeds up to 5 cm tall die within 6-10 days. Like all soil-applied herbicides, Adengo ® requires sufficient soil moisture for high efficiency.
APPLICATION
Adengo ® 46.5% SC, herbicide is used on grain and silage corn from the time of sowing until emergence, as well as in the early post-emergence period — up to the 2-leaf stage of corn.
RECOMMENDED APPLICATION RATES
0.44-0.5 L / ha. Water application rate 200-300 L / ha. Spray application is recommended using a fine spray nozzle. Rolling after corn sowing enhances the herbicidal effect of Adengo ®.
To achieve maximum efficacy, follow these recommendations:
Ensure even spray coverage across the entire crop area;
Even seed placement at the optimal depth to prevent direct contact between corn seeds and the product;
The sprayer tank should be agitated throughout the entire spraying period;
Avoid mechanical soil cultivation after product application during the 4-5 leaf stage of corn.
Selectivity
If the corn treated with Adengo ® needs to be replanted for objective reasons (pests, diseases, anthropogenic factors), it can only be replanted with corn. Adengo ® does not affect subsequent crops in the crop rotation. Sugar beet is typically not planted after corn in crop rotation. However, it is not recommended to grow sugar beet before 10 months after application of Adengo ® 46.5% SC, l.s..
ADVANTAGES
Two different mechanisms of action against a wide range of broadleaf and grassy weeds (inhibitor of amino acid synthesis and inhibitor of carotenoid synthesis).
Extremely wide application window: from sowing until the 2-leaf stage of corn.
Soil activity against broadleaf and grassy weeds with a unique burning potential when applied post-emergence.
Low application rate.
Provides long-term weed control due to the synchronization control technology (recharge effect).
