Description BAYADERA
Gerbera is a bright and lively plant that delights the eye from early spring to late autumn. Its height varies from 25 to 60 cm, and flowers reach a diameter of 12–16 cm, being single, semi-double, or double. The color palette includes white, yellow, cream, orange, pink, red, and many shades, making gerbera a universal element both in garden compositions and in bouquets.

Care for gerberas is simple and does not require special efforts. The plant prefers a mild, warm climate with a hot summer; in colder regions, it is grown as an annual or transplanted in the fall into a pot for wintering at a temperature of 7–8 °C. Optimal lighting is not less than half a day of sunlight. Watering should be abundant during active growth and moderate during the rest period, avoiding both drying out and waterlogging of the soil. Water should be soft and room temperature. Regular feeding with mineral fertilizers every two weeks maintains the plant's health.

Gerbera transplanting is carried out in the fall into a pot with a diameter of no less than 20 cm, using a mixture of two parts peat, leaf soil, and one part sand for good drainage. When planting, the root neck remains above ground. Reproduction is possible by dividing the bush in the spring (April–May) or by seeds from January to March; seedlings bloom after 10–11 months and do not retain maternal properties. Gerbera is susceptible to diseases such as root neck rot, gray mold, and powdery mildew, as well as pests – aphids, thrips, and spider mites. Prevention includes adherence to the watering regime, improved drainage, and timely treatment with fungicides and insecticides. Cut flowers should not be pulled out of the rosette to avoid rotting and the spread of fungi.
