Flax LS Opera

French Breeding for the Oilseed Market

The "LS Opera" flax is a complex hybrid introduced by the French company LABOULET Semences in 2025. Its arrival on the Ukrainian market offers new opportunities for farmers focused on producing high-quality raw materials with specific technological parameters. The key value of this variety lies in its adaptability to the modern requirements of the processing industry.

Purpose and Processing

The primary purpose of the "LS Opera" harvest is industrial processing. Due to the genetic traits incorporated by LABOULET breeders, the seeds possess high oil content and a stable fatty acid profile. This makes the crop highly sought after for the production of:

• Cold-pressed edible oils that retain maximum nutritional value.
• Technical oils used in the paint, coating, and chemical industries.
• Oilcake and meal, which serve as high-protein components in livestock feed.

Marketability and Logistics

The variety demonstrates excellent performance during post-harvest handling. The uniformity of the seeds in size and weight allows for efficient cleaning and calibration, minimizing losses during processing. The high bulk density of the grain ensures efficient loading of transport vehicles, which is critical for export operations. The stability of the seeds during storage allows farmers to avoid rushing sales immediately after harvest, waiting for the most favorable market conditions without the risk of quality degradation.
