URAN

Cucumber variety Uran is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid intended for cultivation in open ground as well as in protected conditions. The plant is medium-height, indeterminate, slightly branched, and female-flowering, ensuring stable fruit formation. Leaves are dark green and medium length, while the fruits are cylindrical, 9-12 cm long, weighing 100-112 g. Fruits are dark green with short stripes, bumpy, covered with a dense white down, possessing excellent taste and crisp texture, and are genetically free of bitterness. Hybrid Uran is characterized by high commercial yield, reaching 296-381 c/ha in the Lower Volga region, with maximum yields up to 784 c/ha. The plant forms 3-4 fruits in leaf axils, contributing to high productivity. For maximum yield, it is recommended to cultivate at a density of 3-3.5 plants per square meter, with regular watering and mineral and organic fertilization. In open ground, plants do not form, but in greenhouses, they are grown on trellises, with the first 3-4 fruits removed and lower lateral branches pinched. Variety Uran is resistant to the main complex of fungal, bacterial, and viral diseases, making it a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners. Harvesting should be conducted every 2-3 days, as irregular harvesting reduces both quantity and quality of fruits. Due to its characteristics and high yield, cucumber Uran is widely used for salad consumption and is recommended for cultivation in regions with Lower Volga climate conditions.
