Cucumber variety "Nежenka" is a medium-early, high-yielding hybrid of Ukrainian selection, intended for cultivation in open ground. From germination to the first harvest of fruits, it takes 45-49 days, allowing for a relatively quick harvest. The plant is characterized by predominantly female flowering and dislikes overcrowding, which is important to consider when planting to ensure optimal growth and fruiting.
The fruits of the "Nежenka" cucumber are elongated, dark green with large bumps, weighing from 90 to 110 grams. They have black spines, are not prone to hollowing or bitterness, retain freshness for a long time, and do not yellow. The taste qualities are high; the cucumbers are crisp and juicy, making them suitable for fresh consumption as well as for pickling and canning.
The hybrid is resistant to a number of diseases, including cladosporiosis, which contributes to stable yields and reduces losses. Sowing on seedlings is recommended in early May, followed by transplanting 20-day-old seedlings into the ground at the end of May to early June. Direct sowing into open ground is also possible at the end of May, with proper depth and spacing between plants. Yield reaches 10-12 kg per square meter, making "Nежenka" an attractive choice for gardeners and farmers.
