Macho

Cucumber "Macho" is a mid-season hybrid pollinator intended for cultivation during spring-summer and summer-autumn seasons. The plant is medium-height with moderate branching, characterized by stable formation of 1-2 fruits per female node and a high number of male flowers — from 10 to 20 per male node. On the main stem, female nodes account for no more than 10-20%, while lateral branches predominantly bear male nodes, ensuring prolonged male flowering both on the main stem and lateral branches.

The fruits of cucumber "Macho" are 19-21 cm long, dark green with distinctive light stripes covering one-third to half the fruit length. The fruits are large-ribbed, belonging to the "Athlete" variety type, possessing excellent taste qualities and crisp, juicy texture. Due to these characteristics, the hybrid is popular for both industrial cultivation in greenhouse complexes and farms, as well as in open ground.

The hybrid exhibits high resistance to root rot and tolerance to diseases such as ascochitosis and true powdery mildew. These traits make "Macho" a reliable choice for professional production of standard crops in large volumes. When using this hybrid in greenhouses, it is recommended to provide pollination by bees, especially when grown alongside other bee-pollinated hybrids.
