Cucumber Valens

Consistency and Performance for Professional Growers

The Valens cucumber hybrid by Nunhems is engineered for growers who require reliability in both greenhouse and open-field production. Its vegetative growth habit provides the plant with the vigor needed to recover from environmental stress, ensuring that the crop remains productive throughout the entire harvesting window.

Practical Applications

• Greenhouse Operations: Valens excels in intensive production systems where steady nutrient uptake and consistent fruit set are essential for profit margins.
• Open-Field Production: The hybrid’s resilience makes it a dependable choice for growers dealing with fluctuating field temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns.

Market Value and Post-Harvest Quality

The hallmark of Valens is its dark green, smooth-skinned fruit, measuring 9–10 cm in length. With an individual fruit weight of 200 grams, it perfectly fits the requirements of the premium salad cucumber market. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the firm flesh provides exceptional shelf life and durability during transit. This allows producers to supply long-distance markets without the risk of quality degradation, making it an efficient option for large-scale logistics and supermarket chain distribution.
