Cucumber variety Alligator 4 is a high-yielding hybrid with early maturity, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. The plant is tall and robust, reaching up to 2.5 meters in height with a medium-branched growth type. Flowering is mixed, predominantly female, forming one to three fruits in each leaf axil. This variety is resistant to diseases such as powdery mildew, downy mildew, and cucumber mosaic virus, as well as high stress tolerance and ability to withstand adverse conditions and low light. Cucumber fruits of Alligator 4 have an elongated-cylindrical shape, measuring 30–40 cm in length and weighing approximately 280–310 grams. The skin is dark green, ribbed, and thin, with characteristic large "bumps". The cucumbers possess excellent flavor: flesh is juicy, sweet, tender, and free of bitterness, making them ideal for fresh consumption. Due to their size and taste, these cucumbers are perfect for salads and light snacks. However, because of their length, they are less suitable for full pickling and preservation, though they can be used for pickling in slices. Variety Alligator 4 exhibits prolonged and abundant fruiting, ensuring high yield — on average 9.4–16 kg per square meter. The plant is well-adapted to various growing conditions, making it a popular choice among gardeners.
