Maize ZHL 137

Serbian breeding for versatile agricultural needs

The ZHL 137 maize hybrid, marketed by Vortex Invest D.O.O., exemplifies efficient European breeding tailored for intensive farming. Developed by the originator Best Seed Producer D.O.O., this variety occupies a key niche among mid-maturing crops, designed for consistent performance in both grain production and forage sectors.

Agronomic Profile

With a vegetation period ranging from 120 to 140 days, ZHL 137 fits the segment optimal for most temperate climate regions. This growth cycle length allows the plant to fully realize its photosynthetic potential, resulting in well-filled cobs with a high thousand-kernel weight.

• Dual-Purpose Utility: The hybrid is equally productive when grown for grain or silage. This makes it an attractive choice for mixed-type farms where the ability to quickly pivot based on market conditions or weather forecasts is paramount.
• Operational Efficiency: Due to a balanced stem structure and resistance to lodging, ZHL 137 demonstrates excellent moisture release at harvest, significantly reducing post-harvest grain drying costs.

Choosing Serbian genetics, as represented by Vortex Invest D.O.O., is backed by the long-standing expertise of Balkan breeders in developing drought-resistant germplasm. ZHL 137 shows high plasticity across various soil types, maintaining predictable development dynamics even amidst fluctuating rainfall patterns during critical vegetation phases.
