The Hungarian-selected hybrid corn Tarraco is a mid-late maturing variety primarily grown for grain production, but also suitable for silage purposes. It stands out for its high yield and adaptability to various climatic conditions, confirmed by numerous field trials conducted in Ukraine. Yield of the hybrid varies from 90-95 to 125-140 centners per hectare across different regions, demonstrating its stability and efficiency even during dry years. The moisture content of the ears is 12–14%, and the dry matter content in the seeds reaches 86-88%, ensuring high milling efficiency and grain quality.
One of the key advantages of the Tarraco hybrid is its high drought resistance and tolerance to weather stress, making it suitable for planting in various climatic zones. Its strong root system promotes efficient use of nutrients and moisture from the soil, further enhancing yield. The hybrid responds well to nitrogen fertilization, allowing increased productivity with proper agronomic practices. Additionally, Tarraco features a wide planting window, enabling flexible planning of agronomic activities.
The Tarraco hybrid is also valued for its high-quality silage due to its large green mass and good feed digestibility. This makes it a dual-purpose hybrid suitable for both grain production and silage. Thanks to its adaptive traits and stable yield, Tarraco corn seeds are in demand among Ukrainian agricultural enterprises seeking high-quality and economically viable harvests.
