Maize ZD 0170

Genetic Potential and Grain Physiology

Austrian breeding from Saatbau in the ZD 0170 hybrid focuses on stability and high output under intensive cultivation. A key feature of this hybrid is its intermediate grain type. In practice, this represents a "sweet spot": such endosperm structure ensures high grain density and excellent processability while maintaining an optimal moisture loss rate during ripening.

Production Specialization

This hybrid is oriented exclusively toward grain production. Its physiological processes are focused on dry matter accumulation in the ear rather than vegetative mass. This allows farmers to achieve high yield indicators even in regions with moderately short growing seasons, which is typical for the Austrian breeding school, known for adapting hybrids to European climate challenges.

• Growth Energy: The hybrid demonstrates a confident start, which is critical for early sowing in cold soil.
• Technological Performance: The intermediate grain type facilitates the threshing process, minimizing breakage during combine operation.
• Yield: Adaptation to intensive fertilizer inputs allows the hybrid's potential to be unlocked under professional agronomic management.

Choosing ZD 0170 is a strategic move for operations seeking predictable results in commercial maize fields, where the priority is high-quality grain with minimal drying costs, thanks to the hybrid's well-balanced biology.
