TK 190 — an early corn hybrid with FAO 190, developed by Ukrainian selection and registered in the plant variety registry from 2017-2018. This hybrid is characterized by its versatility and high adaptability to various soil types, allowing successful cultivation in the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions. Plants reach a height of 190 to 300 cm, have half-spread leaves, and large ears 22-24 cm long with 14-16 rows of kernels, each containing 28-32 kernels. Kernels are cream-colored or cream-colored, yellow or orange, with a 1000-kernel weight of 298 to 325 g. Hybrid TK 190 is characterized by high cold resistance and resistance to lodging, as well as moderate drought tolerance. It demonstrates intense water extraction by the grain, facilitating harvesting and reducing yield losses. The plant does not tiller, responds well to improved growing conditions, possesses good plasticity in harvest timing, and offers advantages when sown early due to its rapid growth rate. Recommended planting density varies by region: from 60,000 plants per hectare in the steppe to 90-95,000 in Polissia. TK 190 is intended for grain and silage production, making it a versatile choice for agricultural enterprises. The hybrid’s yield potential reaches 12.7 t/ha, while in real conditions, for example, in the Sumy region, the yield was 9.65 t/ha at a grain moisture content of 16%. High seed germination (97%) and high germination rates ensure reliable and uniform crop development. Thanks to its agronomic and biological characteristics, TK 190 is an effective and promising hybrid for cultivation under various climatic conditions in Ukraine.
