Description Tirnavia
Tirnavia is a medium-early trihybrid maize hybrid for grain and silage purposes with a vegetation period of approximately 86-115 days, depending on the growing region. Plants reach a height of 240-260 cm, with ears approximately 25-30 cm long, attached at a height of about 55-110 cm. The ear has a conical-cylindrical shape, containing 16-18 rows of kernels, with 22-26 kernels per row. The kernel type is Soft-Flint or glassy-ridged, with elevated starch content (about 69%) and protein (11%), ensuring high nutritional value and excellent silage digestibility. The average 1000-kernel weight is 330-350 g.

Tirnavia exhibits high resistance to adverse weather conditions and diseases. The hybrid demonstrates excellent cold, drought, and heat tolerance, allowing successful cultivation across various climatic zones, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions. It is also resistant to diseases such as common and blister smut, rust, stalk rot, helminthosporium, and ear fusarium. Due to its high resistance to lodging during ripening and up to one month after, the hybrid maintains yield and grain quality.

Tirnavia is characterized by active growth dynamics in early vegetative stages and early flowering. It possesses high dry matter yield, ranging from 9 to 15 tons per hectare across various regions, with maximum silage yields reaching up to 40 tons per hectare. The recommended plant population varies by growing zone: from 35-40 thousand per hectare in southern steppe regions to 70-80 thousand per hectare in Polissia. High dry matter content at different planting times and excellent grain moisture release make this hybrid attractive for grain and silage production, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield.
