Description SY Unitop
SY Unitop — medium-early maize hybrid developed by Syngenta (Netherlands) with FAO number 240. This hybrid belongs to the Stay Green type, which ensures prolonged retention of green plant mass and contributes to high water yield. The plant is tall with broad, straight leaves, and it also features moderate anthocyanic coloring of roots and silk. The vegetation period is approximately 113-120 days, corresponding to average tasseling flowering time and enabling the hybrid to be successfully grown under various climatic conditions, including the Polissia and forest-steppe zones. SY Unitop exhibits high tolerance to major maize diseases, reducing the risk of yield loss and minimizing the need for intensive herbicide applications. However, high herbicide rates should be avoided to maintain plant health. The hybrid shows moderate drought and frost resistance, making it suitable for various regions, including the Central Chernozem and Ural areas. Seeds are suitable for cultivation on different soil types, ensuring stable and high grain yield. SY Unitop grain is dent-type with a starch content of approximately 73.8%, contributing to obtaining high-quality raw material for further processing. Planting density at harvest is 60-85 thousand plants per hectare, which is optimal for achieving maximum yield. Due to its characteristics, the hybrid is widely used in agriculture to obtain high-quality grain with excellent technological properties.
