Maize SK 455

Focusing on peak yields in intensive farming

French breeding from RAGT is known for its focus on yield potential, and the CK 455 hybrid is a prime example. As a simple hybrid with an FAO of 450–460, it is tailored for farms utilizing intensive management practices and targeting record-breaking grain yields per hectare. Thanks to the genetics from Societe Ragt 2N S.A.S., the plants show exceptional responsiveness to fertilization and irrigation.

When to choose CK 455

This hybrid is developed strictly for grain production. Its biological profile makes it the optimal choice for regions with a sufficient growing season. Key application scenarios include:

• High-intensity farms: If your operation uses precision farming tools and a structured nitrogen management system, CK 455 will deliver outstanding grain mass results.
• Long-summer regions: The high FAO requires significant time for proper grain fill, meaning this hybrid thrives in areas where autumn arrives late, allowing the crop to capitalize on solar energy.
• Operations equipped for drying: The grain of CK 455 is characterized by high density, which is advantageous for storage. However, growers should account for post-harvest drying costs, as the hybrid is harvested with moisture levels typical for the mid-late segment.

Practical note: When planning your planting season, keep in mind that to unlock the potential of an FAO 450–460 hybrid, it is critical to adhere to the manufacturer-recommended plant density. Over-seeding may lead to competition for nutrients, negatively impacting ear fill and overall kernel development.
