Maize Rist SV

Yield Stability and Dent Grain Potential

The "Rist SV" corn hybrid, developed by the Ukrainian breeder "Rasava," is a classic variety focused on high-quality grain production. Its genetic architecture is specifically adapted to the conditions of Ukrainian agriculture, where the balance between maturation speed and biological productivity is paramount.

Technical Development Parameters

With a vegetation period of 120–140 days, this hybrid is classified as mid-late (FAO 90–1240). For an agronomist, this requires precise sowing date planning: the variety needs to accumulate a significant sum of active temperatures to reach its full genetic potential. The dent-type grain has a high starch density, which is critical for post-harvest drying: high density reduces losses during threshing and ensures a superior yield of the marketable product.

Agronomic Recommendations

The versatility of the variety is reflected in its plant density requirements. The manufacturer provides two density ranges:

• 50,000–55,000 plants/ha — for conditions with limited moisture supply, minimizing intraspecific competition for soil water.
• 60,000–65,000 plants/ha — for areas with sufficient moisture or when using intensive feeding systems aimed at maximizing grain output per unit area.

Selecting the density within these limits allows for efficient management of the crop structure depending on the specific field's agro-background, ensuring uniform ear development and high-quality filling by the time of physiological maturity.
