Description Opoka
Opoka — mid-early three-line corn hybrid, included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region for grain production. The plant is tall with broad leaves, ears are long, thick, and slightly conical, with short or medium-length stalks. Grain is intermediate type, colored in yellow-orange shades. The vegetation period is approximately 116 days, which corresponds to the standard for this region.

The hybrid exhibits good resistance to major diseases such as stalk rot and powdery mildew, although field conditions show moderate susceptibility to ear fusarium. Grain yield in the Central Chernozem region averages 80.2 c/ha, with maximum yields reaching 124 c/ha, significantly exceeding the standard. Grain moisture at harvest is around 22.1%, facilitating rapid moisture loss and early achievement of optimal harvest moisture.

Opoka has excellent drought and cold resistance, making it a versatile hybrid suitable for cultivation across nearly all of Ukraine. It is suitable not only for grain production but also for producing high-energy silage. The hybrid is also a good predecessor for winter cereal crops and does not require high soil nutrient inputs, simplifying its agronomic use.
