Description Monkada
Monkada corn is a high-quality hybrid developed by Monsanto, renowned for its innovations in the agricultural sector and adaptation to the climatic conditions of Ukraine. Seeds under the DEKALB brand are distinguished by high yield and resistance to adverse factors, making them popular among Ukrainian farmers. Monkada corn hybrids are suitable for cultivation both for grain and silage, ensuring stable yields across various regions of the country, including dry steppe zones and forest-steppe areas.

One of the key features of Monkada corn is its high adaptability and resistance to stressful conditions. Plants have a strong root system and resistance to lodging, which helps maintain yield during strong winds and droughts. Seeds have a dentiform kernel shape, and some hybrids are treated for enhanced protection against pests. The corn demonstrates high resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew and fusarium, which is especially important for risky farming zones.

Monkada corn hybrids vary in maturity and FAO rating from 260 to 500, allowing selection of the optimal variety for specific climatic conditions and cultivation technologies. For example, the medium-early hybrid DKC 3415 with FAO 260 is recommended for areas with sufficient but unstable moisture, high cold tolerance, and good water release. High starch content in the grain (over 72%) makes it suitable for biofuel production. The corn grows well under traditional and minimal tillage practices, as well as at sowing temperatures of 9-10 degrees Celsius. Thanks to these characteristics, Monkada hybrids ensure yields of 10-13 tons per hectare, confirming their effectiveness and economic attractiveness for farmers.
