Maize LJN 2444

Genetic Potential and Crop Protection

The French maize hybrid LJN 2444 from Mas Seeds is a high-tech solution for farms focused on stable results in both grain and silage production. The development of this hybrid was led by the expert group under Joel Meunier, ensuring a focus on balanced yields under diverse growing conditions.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

The core strength of LJN 2444 lies in its deep genetic immunity to major maize pathogens. Mas Seeds' breeding strategy focused on blocking disease proliferation at the cellular wall level, which is critical for maintaining high grain and biomass quality:

• Comprehensive Resistance: The hybrid shows high tolerance to Helminthosporium, preventing premature leaf senescence.
• Phytosanitary Safety: The inherent genetic defense against Fusarium minimizes mycotoxin risks, making the product safe for both livestock (silage) and human consumption (grain).
• Immunity to Common Smut: The cob and stalk structure effectively prevents pathogen entry, preserving harvest integrity even under high infection pressure.

Maturity and Functional Application

With a maturity cycle of 110-120 days, this hybrid is positioned as a versatile crop rotation tool. Its physiology allows for efficient nutrient accumulation during the grain-filling phase, ensuring excellent dry-down rates and high-quality fermentation for silage production. Utilizing LJN 2444 streamlines harvesting logistics, allowing producers to plan field operations within optimal agronomic windows for any climate zone.
