Maize K 180 SV

Stability and Resilience in Challenging Climates

"K 180 SV" from the All-Russian Corn Research Institute is designed for farms that prioritize harvest reliability over extreme performance records. As an early-maturing hybrid with an FAO rating of 180, it fits seamlessly into crop rotations in regions with short growing seasons and inconsistent precipitation.

Agronomic Potential

The flint-dent grain type ensures an ideal balance between moisture dry-down rates and grain quality. This allows farmers to reduce drying costs, significantly impacting overall production profitability. Primarily used for high-quality grain and silage, this hybrid is highly responsive to agronomic practices, allowing for flexible seeding density strategies:

• 55,000–60,000 plants/ha: Best for moisture-deficient regions.
• 70,000–75,000 plants/ha: Standard density for optimal conditions.
• 75,000–90,000 plants/ha: Recommended under irrigation to maximize yield potential.

Strengths and Considerations

The core advantage of "K 180 SV" is its stress tolerance. It consistently produces yields in environments where intensive imported hybrids often fail due to heat stress. However, it is essential to note: this is a hybrid meant for stable, predictable performance. If your goal is to push for extreme world-class yield records, more intensive lines might be preferable. "K 180 SV" is a practical choice for growers who need a dependable harvest, regardless of the season's unpredictability.
