The ES Zizu corn hybrid was developed taking into account the needs of farmers in various regions of Ukraine, particularly in northern and forest-steppe zones with a short period of high temperatures. It is characterized by high yield, which can reach up to 130 centners per hectare under optimal irrigation and fertilization, and in real conditions, the yield varies from 81 to 101.1 centners per hectare. The plant reaches a height of approximately 260-282 cm, with ear attachment at a height of 105-120 cm. The ear has a conical-cylindrical shape, 22-25 cm long and 5-5.5 cm in diameter, with 14-16 rows of kernels and 26 kernels per row. The kernels are dent type, warm yellow in color, with a 1000-kernel weight of about 290 g, possessing excellent quality and high initial growth energy. ES Zizu exhibits high resistance to stress factors such as cold, drought, and diseases, including helminthosporiosis. The hybrid has a strong root system and exceptional plasticity, ensuring stability and productivity under various climatic conditions. Moreover, the plant is resistant to lodging, which contributes to maintaining yield. The rapid moisture release from the kernels allows efficient use of the hybrid in grain production, ensuring timely harvest and high product quality. The optimal planting density depends on the growing region: under conditions of insufficient moisture, 65,000-75,000 plants per hectare are recommended, while under sufficient moisture, 85,000-95,000 plants per hectare. ES Zizu is suitable for grain production and is characterized by a red stem color of the ear, which is one of its unique features. The hybrid is produced by the company Euralis Semences, ensuring high seed quality and compliance with modern agronomic requirements.
