The hybrid corn variety Galaxy is a medium-early type intended for grain production. The plant is characterized by high stature — around 240-250 cm, with an ear positioned approximately 85-100 cm above ground. The grain has a cream-colored type with a distinctive two-toned coloring: the upper part is yellow, and the lower part is orange. Each row contains 30-32 kernels, and the ear has up to 14 rows. The hybrid’s vegetation period is approximately 116 days, allowing its use in various climatic conditions of the Central Chernozem region. Galaxy exhibits rapid grain drying, facilitating harvest and reducing grain moisture to an average of 22.9%. The hybrid’s yield is high and stable: regional averages reach 74.6 ц/га for grain and 148.2 ц/га for silage, with maximum values up to 140 ц/га and 272 ц/га respectively. Seeding rate varies depending on soil moisture — from 60-70 thousand plants per hectare in areas with insufficient moisture to 80-90 thousand plants per hectare in areas with adequate moisture. The hybrid demonstrates resistance to a range of diseases, including helminthosporium, fusarium, and common rust, contributing to healthy crops and increased yields. The leaves are of medium width, slightly curved, with moderate anthocyanic coloring of the sheath of the first leaf and silk. These characteristics ensure good adaptability of the hybrid to growing conditions and promote effective photosynthesis.
