Maize EG 7050

French breeding for stable yields

The EG 7050 corn hybrid from Lidea is a solution for farmers who prioritize predictability in intensive farming environments. Developed by French breeders at Av Du Capitaine N Tchorere, this hybrid is designed to unlock its full genetic potential in zones with sufficient moisture levels and on fertile soils.

Strengths and field advantages

• High adaptability index: EG 7050 demonstrates resistance to temperature fluctuations during early growth stages, allowing for earlier sowing without the risk of stand loss.
• Cob stability: The crop is characterized by uniform grain and a high thousand-kernel weight, which directly translates into higher yields per hectare when following the technical guidelines.
• Pathogen resistance: The Lidea genetic base minimizes the risks of common stalk and cob diseases, simplifying crop management.

Who is this hybrid for?

EG 7050 is an optimal choice for farms focused on obtaining high-quality commercial grain. Due to its plasticity, the hybrid is forgiving of minor agronomic errors, though it shows maximum results when receiving full doses of mineral fertilizers. Unlike niche product lines, EG 7050 offers a balanced combination of moisture dry-down speed and yield potential, effectively reducing grain drying costs.

Operation and technical recommendations

The primary recommendation for agronomists is to strictly adhere to the planting density specified by the manufacturer for the specific climatic zone. Excessive density may prevent the cob from reaching its full potential. The hybrid is responsive to intensive nutrient management and makes efficient use of nitrogen fertilizers, making it a favorite among farms with modern equipment and precision farming systems.
