Maize Dneprovsky 181SV

Field Performance of "Dniprovskyi 181SV"

For growers operating in regions with variable moisture levels, selecting a hybrid with a short vegetation period is a strategic move. "Dniprovskyi 181SV" is a "workhorse" hybrid developed by the Institute of Grain Crops and the Stepna Corporation. In practice, it is highly predictable: this simple hybrid (FAO 180) demonstrates excellent seedling vigor, which is crucial for early planting.

Resilience and Field Management

As an operator, you will appreciate its resistance to common diseases that often decimate yields mid-season. The hybrid shows robust protection against:

• Helminthosporiosis: minimal infection rates even in high-humidity conditions.
• Fusarium ear rot: reliable immunity, which simplifies grain storage.
• Common smut (Ustilago maydis): negligible field losses.
• European corn borer: high resistance, reducing the need for aggressive insecticide applications.

The flint-dent grain type provides exceptional moisture release during maturation. This means faster drying cycles compared to later-maturing competitors, saving significantly on energy costs. "Dniprovskyi 181SV" is low-maintenance: it responds well to fertilization but maintains productivity even on less fertile soils where other hybrids would fail.

At harvest, you get uniform, well-filled ears with high grain density. Because of its genetic profile, this hybrid is forgiving of minor agrotechnical errors, maintaining its yield potential even when environmental conditions are far from optimal.
