Description DKC2870
DKC 2870 is an early corn hybrid with high yield potential, belonging to the FAO maturity group 210. It is specifically developed to achieve high yields in a short time, making it an optimal choice for regions with unpredictable climates. One of the key features of this hybrid is its high cold tolerance, allowing successful cultivation even during early spring and late autumn frosts.

The hybrid demonstrates resistance to a range of diseases, including fusarium, downy mildew, helminthosporiosis, stalk rot, as well as stalk and root lodging. Thanks to these qualities, DKC 2870 ensures plant health and stability throughout the entire growing season. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits high plasticity and stability, enabling it to adapt to various growing conditions.

Seeding should be carried out when soil temperature is not lower than 8-9°C at the seed burial depth. The recommended plant population at harvest varies depending on soil moisture: 65-70 thousand plants per hectare under unstable moisture conditions, and 70-80 thousand under adequate moisture. The hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage production, with plant population for silage purposes increased by 10%. The rapid moisture release from the grain makes DKC 2870 popular for conversion into biogas and bioethanol, as evidenced by its popularity in Germany.
