Maize CR 640 M

Stability and Adaptability in Field Conditions

KR 640 M is a medium-early corn hybrid developed by NPO Kubanzerno and the Lukyanenko National Grain Center. It is designed for growers who prioritize a balance between high grain yields and high-quality silage production. Unlike intensive imported hybrids, this variety demonstrates exceptional adaptability to local environmental conditions, maintaining stable productivity even under moderate stress factors.

Integrated Plant Protection

A key strength of the KR 640 M hybrid lies in its biological resilience. By choosing this hybrid, farmers can reduce the frequency of pesticide applications due to its natural resistance to:

• Fusarium and Helminthosporium;
• Head smut;
• European corn borer (genus Sesamia), ensuring stalk integrity and reducing lodging risks.

Cultivation and Planting Recommendations

The hybrid produces a conical-cylindrical ear filled with dense, yellow-orange grains. To achieve the full genetic potential of the hybrid, the seeding density should be adjusted based on local moisture availability:

• 40,000–45,000 plants/ha — in arid zones;
• 45,000–50,000 plants/ha — in regions with moderate moisture;
• 55,000–65,000 plants/ha — on irrigated lands.

With its dual-purpose nature (suitable for both grain and silage), KR 640 M serves as a reliable workhorse for mixed-farming operations, providing flexibility in crop management according to market demand.
