Borisfen 191 MV — an early-maturing corn hybrid designed for stable and high yields. This tri-line hybrid features rapid early growth and adaptability to various cultivation technologies. Plants reach heights of 230–270 cm, with ears positioned at approximately 100 cm. The cylindrical ear is 18–20 cm long, fully covered by husk, with a red or white stalk. Kernel shape is dent, matte-yellow in color, with a 1000-kernel weight of 250–312 g, ensuring good grain yield — around 82%.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to lodging (8–9 points) and diseases, including bubble and flying smut, and is tolerant to pests. The vegetation period is approximately 118 days in the steppe zone and up to 130 days in the forest-steppe, allowing cultivation in various climatic regions of Ukraine and Russia, including Polissia, Forest-Steppe, Steppe, as well as Volgo-Vyat and Central Chernozem regions. Recommended planting density varies from 50 to 85 thousand plants per hectare depending on moisture conditions.
Borisfen 191 MV is versatile in use: suitable for grain, silage, and biogas production. It performs optimally under conventional cultivation methods, yielding grain up to 10–11 tons per hectare and silage up to 600 centners. Its high adaptability and stability make it an excellent choice for farmers aiming for efficient and high-quality corn cultivation across various agro-climatic zones.
