Celosia plumosa "Vera" is an annual decorative plant from the amaranth family, valued by gardeners for its ease of care and vibrant flowering profusion. The leaves have an elongated or lanceolate shape and a rich green color; the bush rarely exceeds 15–40 cm in height, making the plant convenient for containers, flower beds, and bouquet cutting.
At the top of the shoot is located a fluffy inflorescence in the form of feathers, consisting of small flowers. Colors range from pink and yellow to orange, red, and purple, creating a flame and sunset effect. The flowering period begins at the end of June and continues until the first frosts, sometimes until September, providing a bright garden decoration during the summer and autumn periods.
For growing celosia "Vera", it is recommended to sow seeds at the end of March–beginning of April in seedling boxes with a slight greenhouse effect. Seedlings are transplanted into the open ground in June, leaving a distance of 20–30 cm between plants. The plant prefers sunny places, fertile and well-drained soil, does not tolerate standing water and frost. Watering is carried out 2–3 times a week, daily in drought without overwatering. Fertilizing is done with complex fertilizers for flowering plants or organic infusions.
Celosia "Vera" is suitable both for group plantings in flower beds and for creating dried bouquets due to the inflorescence's resistance to drying. This makes it a popular choice among those looking for a bright but undemanding decorative plant for the garden or interior.
