Nepeta 'First-Born' – a perennial plant that attracts attention with bright flowers and a distinctive aroma. Depending on growing conditions, its inflorescences may show shades of pink or blue, while the leaves retain a grayish-green tone with a slight silvery sheen. The plant height ranges from 25–36 cm, width – 25–30 cm, which makes it convenient for planting both in separate flower beds and between rows of garden plots.

This variety of catmint is distinguished by high heat resistance and good shade tolerance. Under full sunlight and regular watering, the plant demonstrates particularly abundant flowering, and removing withered inflorescences stimulates further growth of new buds. Nepeta 'First-Born' is also known for its frost hardiness and preference for moist soil, which allows it to be used in various climatic zones.

The fodder mass of catmint is rich in essential oils – about 0.36% of the total mass, and when harvesting, up to 95 kg/hectare can be obtained. This makes the plant valuable both as a decorative element of the garden and as a source of aromatic substances for culinary and medicinal purposes. Thanks to its pleasant sharp-aromatic smell, reminiscent of mint, as well as a slightly spicy-bitter taste, 'First-Born' can be used as a seasoning or additive to herbal mixtures.

In general, Nepeta 'First-Born' is a universal plant that combines decorative attractiveness with practical properties. It is easy to grow on various soil types, it is resistant to adverse climatic conditions and is capable of yielding essential oils, which makes it in demand both in gardening and in aromatherapy.
