SUGAR MOUNTAIN

Sugar Mountain cabbage is a late-maturing, high-yielding variety with a vegetative period of 140 to 165 days. The plant forms dense, round heads weighing from 3.5 to 4.5 kg with a short stalk. Leaves are light green, large, with wavy edges and a waxy coating, forming a powerful and spreading rosette with a diameter of about 80 cm. The bush height reaches approximately 40 cm. Cabbages are distinguished by their juiciness, sweet taste, and fine texture, making the variety universal for fresh consumption, pickling, and salted preparation.

The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 80-108 tons per hectare, and resistance to a number of diseases, including bacterial spot and fusarium, however, it is sensitive to black leg. Cabbage is unpretentious to growing conditions, prefers loamy soils rich in organic matter, and requires constant monitoring of soil pH. It is recommended to grow by seedling method in open ground with mandatory treatment for pests.

One of the significant advantages of the variety is its excellent transportability and ability for long-term storage — up to 6-8 months without loss of commercial and taste qualities, which allows preserving freshness and taste characteristics until spring. Thanks to these qualities, Sugar Mountain cabbage is suitable both for implementation on the fresh market and for processing.
