Cabbage Rodnik

Long-term Storage and Market Efficiency

The «Rodnik» Chinese cabbage variety is designed for growers who prioritize shelf life and off-season profitability. With a storage capacity of up to 10-12 months, this variety serves as a reliable tool for farm managers looking to avoid the price volatility that often follows the primary harvest season.

Agronomic Cycle and Performance

With a maturity period of 50-60 days from transplanting, «Rodnik» fits perfectly into intensive crop rotation plans. Its compact head shape allows for efficient space utilization in cold storage facilities, while the deep green color ensures high market appeal in the fresh produce category.

Practical Applications

• Fresh Market: The aesthetic appearance and firm structure make it highly sought after by premium retailers.
• Long-term Storage: The main competitive advantage, allowing farmers to market their product when prices peak.
• Processing: Its texture and flavor profile make it suitable for various culinary applications and industrial preparation.

Developed by the Maikop and Far Eastern research stations of VNIIR, «Rodnik» offers the balance of hardiness and commercial viability required by professional vegetable producers.
