Geym

Geym cucumber – a mid-season Ukrainian variety intended for open-ground cultivation. The vegetative period from seedling emergence to fruiting begins around 48-60 days, and the fruiting period lasts over 30 days, ensuring a steady and prolonged harvest from July to September. The plant has medium vining characteristics, allowing compact placement on rows and facilitating care.

The Geym cucumber fruits are elongated-oval in shape with bright green or dark green coloration, marked by large bumps, black spines, and white stripes that extend nearly halfway down the fruit. Fruit length varies from 10 to 13 cm, and weight is approximately 70-100 g. Due to their dense structure, the fruits withstand transportation well and retain their flavor, making this variety suitable for fresh consumption as well as pickling and preservation.

The Geym variety exhibits increased resistance to false powdery mildew and bacterial spot, reducing disease risk and enhancing harvest reliability. Seeds have high germination rates (about 97%) and are recommended for planting in well-heated soil from mid-April to late June. These characteristics make Geym cucumber an excellent choice for gardeners aiming to achieve high-quality, flavorful harvests.
