Description Madeira
Maidera bean variety is an early or medium-early bush variety with plant height ranging from 40 to 50 cm. Plants are moderately foliated with medium-sized green leaves, sometimes slightly crinkled. Flowers are white and medium-sized. Pods are dark green, 15-16 cm long, straight or slightly curved, without a parchment layer and fibers, which ensures their juiciness and pleasant taste. Lower beans are attached at a height of 9-15 cm from the base of the plant.

The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching from 1.7 to 3.0 kg per square meter, and drought resistance. Each pod contains 6-7 elliptical seeds, which can be white with medium-intensity venation or purple-black in color. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 190 to 260 g, while the mass of 100 pods is about 640 g. The vegetative period ranges from 50-55 to 70-75 days depending on growing conditions.

Maidera beans are versatile in application: they are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and canning. Due to the absence of fibers and the parchment layer, pods are especially valued for preparing asparagus dishes and canning. This variety is recommended for cultivation in personal subsidiary holdings and provides excellent product taste qualities.
