CHILIPSI – an author variety of sweet potato created by the Luzan family in 2017. Tubers of this variety are characterized by plasticity and hardness: pink skin, white flesh, no milky appearance. Raw, they resemble the taste of ordinary potato – slightly starchy and not sweet, but when baked they transform into a tender product with the pleasant aroma of home elite potato. Baked chilipsi have a slightly dry, semi-sticky texture, but retain softness and slight sweetness, making them popular among lovers of tasty baking.
The CHILIPSI plant is characterized by thin and long vines with trifoliate leaves. The first leaves have a brownish tint, then turn green. The variety flowers, which indicates full development of the plant. To obtain the crop requires 120–130 days, and it especially loves regular watering.
Sweet potatoes in general represent a crop with more than seven thousand varieties, where active breeding is carried out in the USA and Asian countries. The CHILIPSI variety stands out for its unpretentiousness: it is suitable for both experienced farmers and gardening enthusiasts who want to get a tasty crop without complex requirements for soil and climate.
