Milk Thistle AA AELITA

Maximizing Yields with AA Aelita Milk Thistle

The «AA Aelita» milk thistle variety, developed by Valery Ivanovich Zhuzhukin and marketed by «Aktiv Agro», is a specialized selection designed for industrial cultivation. It serves as a reliable source of pharmacological raw material, particularly valued for its high concentrations of silymarin.

Key Cultivation Characteristics

Standing between 80 and 150 cm tall, this variety is engineered to meet the demands of modern mechanical harvesting. The uniformity of the stand is a hallmark of the AA Aelita genotype, which significantly reduces harvest losses when using standard combine harvesters.

• Application Strategy: Most producers utilize this variety to meet contractual obligations for oil pressing facilities and manufacturers of dietary supplements.
• Agronomic Focus: While the crop is robust, effective weed control during the rosette phase is essential to ensure maximum seed yield. Its stature allows for canopy closure, which naturally suppresses late-season weed pressure.
• Operational Efficiency: Due to the stable maturation window, farmers can better manage their harvest logistics, ensuring the raw material is processed while moisture levels are at an optimal point.

Practical Farm Integration

Incorporating AA Aelita into a crop rotation cycle provides an excellent opportunity to diversify production with a high-margin specialty crop. Its ability to thrive in varying soil conditions makes it a versatile tool for regional agriculture, provided the soil is well-prepared. By choosing this variety, producers benefit from a predictable growth cycle, allowing for efficient allocation of machinery and labor during the peak harvesting season.
