Hungarian Millet KABIR

A Reliable Choice for Feed Efficiency

The 'Kabir' foxtail millet variety is a breeding achievement from the North Caucasus Research Institute of Mountain and Piedmont Horticulture. It has firmly established itself as a dual-purpose crop. Unlike many imported hybrids that demand intensive farming technologies, this variety demonstrates rare adaptability across diverse soil and climatic conditions.

Agronomic Profile and Morphology

Its erect stem, reaching 100–120 cm, ensures an optimal stand for easy mechanical harvesting. The crop is valued for its balanced accumulation of vegetative mass, suitable for high-quality hay production, alongside reliable grain maturation.

• Feed Potential: Excellent palatability due to the delicate structure of the leaf blade, making it highly attractive to livestock.
• Grain Yield: Stable productivity metrics when basic agronomic standards are met.
• Adaptability: Performs well in specific mountain and plains conditions where other forage crops often struggle with temperature fluctuations.

Who is this variety for?

'Kabir' is ideal for farms aiming to optimize their feed supply without the high costs associated with expensive first-generation hybrids. It is the choice for growers looking for a balance between forage quality and grain harvest. The variety is forgiving for less experienced farmers but does require strict adherence to planting timelines to unlock its full tillering potential. During dry summers, it maintains its edge due to a highly developed root system, providing stable yields where more sensitive competitors may fail.
