Barley KRASNOYARSKY 91

KRASNOYARSKY 91 is a mid-late spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) variety, primarily intended for grain-forage use. It belongs to multi-row varieties and is characterized by high adaptability to growing conditions in the Forest-Steppe of Prichulymye and the Pre-mountain Steppe zones on ordinary and southern chernozems of Krasnoyarsk Krai, as well as in the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva. The average yield of the variety in the Eastern Siberia region is about 24.2 centners per hectare, with protein content in the grain ranging from 9.4% to 14.3%. The variety has moderate resistance to loose smut but is susceptible to loose smut and helminthosporiosis.

Spring barley KRASNOYARSKY 91 is an annual cereal crop with a rapid development cycle, allowing it to be grown in regions with a short warm period. It adapts well to various climatic conditions, especially on light soils with moderate moisture. Due to the high nutritional value of the grain, this variety is widely used as a fodder crop for livestock and can also be used in the food industry for the production of cereals, flour, and malt.

Growing the KRASNOYARSKY 91 variety is profitable due to its drought resistance and the ability to obtain a quick harvest. It is less demanding on growing conditions compared to other cereal crops, making it attractive for agrarians in regions with variable climatic conditions. Plant features include a semi-erect bush and strong anthocyanin coloration on the flag leaf ears, indicating its adaptive properties and resistance to certain diseases.
