Aster STARRY PEARL

Breeding Heritage and Market Positioning

"Zvezdny Zhemchug" (Star Pearl) is a notable result of Russian breeding science, developed under the guidance of Vasily Kotov and Vyacheslav Ludilov. Held by Kotov V.V. and VNIIO (a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution FNTsO), this aster variety has established itself as a reliable choice for decorative gardening. It represents a generation of annuals designed specifically to balance aesthetic appeal with horticultural stability.

Visual Aesthetics and Growth Traits

The core identity of "Zvezdny Zhemchug" lies in its distinctive pompon-shaped flowers. Unlike flat-headed varieties, this aster features dense, spherical blooms in a clean white and yellow color palette. As an annual, it is not winter-hardy and is programmed for a single, vigorous vegetation cycle. It is a quintessential bedding plant, highly valued for its consistency in form and color, which remains stable across various planting conditions.

Practical Applications

Horticulturists and professional florists favor this variety for two distinct purposes:

• Landscaping: Its uniform growth and attractive pompon heads make it an excellent choice for formal flower beds, border edges, and decorative displays.
• Cut Flowers: Because the stems are sturdy and the blooms are compact and long-lasting, this variety is highly effective for bouquet arrangements, offering a professional, polished look.

For those seeking a classic horticultural solution, "Zvezdny Zhemchug" offers a perfect blend of decorative value and dependable performance in the garden or the floral studio.
