The Greyce watermelon is an early yellow-fleshed hybrid of the Crimson Sweet type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. This variety matures 70-75 days from seedling emergence and 62-65 days from transplanting, allowing for a quick harvest. The plant is distinguished by its resistance to low temperatures and lack of sunlight at the beginning of the season, as well as its ability to set fruit even under stressful growing conditions. The fruits have an oval shape, light green rind with thin dark green stripes, and an average weight of 6-8 kg. The watermelon rind is moderately thick and hard, providing good fruit protection and contributing to excellent transportability and storage without loss of taste qualities. The flesh is bright yellow, dense and uniform, without veins and cavities, characterized by high juiciness and sweetness with a sugar content of 10-11%. Seeds are small and almost transparent, making the consumption of the watermelon particularly pleasant. This variety is intended for fresh consumption and is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including areas with changeable weather. The Greyce watermelon is well adapted for open-field cultivation and can be successfully grown throughout the territory of Ukraine. Thanks to its resistance to unfavorable conditions and stable fruit setting, it is a reliable choice for both farmers and gardeners. The early maturity period and high fruit quality make this variety in demand in the fresh fruit market, ensuring a stable and delicious harvest.
