Actinidia 'Slavna' is a perennial vine of the Actinidiaceae family that combines high productivity with decorative appeal. The plant reaches heights of up to 8 meters, and its long, flexible canes easily drape onto supports, trellises, or walls, creating living hedges and facade decorations. The fruits have an oval-like shape, weighing from 9g to 17g, colored green with a slight tan upon ripening, while the taste is juicy, sweet with notes of pineapple, kiwi, and strawberry. Inside, the pulp is juicy, rich in vitamins C, E, group B, iron, and potassium compounds, making the berries healthy.
The variety is distinguished by a long life cycle – up to 100 years under optimal conditions – and high yield: from 10kg to 15kg of berries per plant. Fruiting begins as early as the 2nd-3rd year after planting, with the first major harvest usually occurring by the 4th-5th year. Actinidia 'Slavna' is a dioecious plant: to produce fruit, one male plant needs to be planted for every four to five female ones. Optimal planting times are in spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November). The plant prefers sunny locations, loose soil with good drainage, but can successfully grow in partial shade.
Care for 'Slavna' is simple: young saplings are watered 1-2 times a week, adults during dry periods. Pruning is done in early spring to shape the vine and remove old canes. Fertilization is distributed across seasons: spring – nitrogen fertilizers, summer – potassium-phosphorus, autumn – organic. The plant is resistant to diseases and pests, withstands frosts down to -25 °C (in some cases to -30 °C). Thanks to its decorativeness and useful properties, actinidia 'Slavna' becomes an excellent choice both for fruit orchards and for living hedges in urban and suburban plots.
